The hydrocarbon sector requires integrated waste management.

Companies in this sector generate more than 65,000 tons of waste per year.

The Hydrocarbons sector is one of the sectors that generates the most waste, specifically, between 2016 and 2019 a total of 200498 tons of hazardous waste were generated, according to SEMARNAT data. In order to reduce the level of negative impact on the health of the population, as well as on the air, soil, water and fauna and to avoid affecting ecosystems, the Industrial Management Unit of ASEA (Safety, Energy and Environment Agency) published in November 2020 the Guide for the integrated management of waste from Hydrocarbon Sector activities. This document establishes the pertinent actions to be carried out by the regulated entities for the management of the registers of generators and waste management plans, and if applicable, for the waste service providers to manage the authorizations that allow the integral management of the waste.

Giventhe importance of waste management in the hydrocarbon sector activities for the administration, it is convenient for companies to have an Integral Waste Management that is responsible for the control and management of waste, covering all regulatory aspects. Tema Mexico’s team is specialized in this integral management and accompanies clients in all the procedures, from the registration of the waste generator to the elaboration and registration of the Integral Management Plan.

Tema’s service is not only in charge of administrative procedures, but also has the added value of proposing waste optimization, with the aim of improving waste management and complying with ASEA’s objectives of reducing environmental impact.
